The Brotherhood of St. Andrew

The Brotherhood of St. Andrew is a ministry of men whose purpose is to “spread Christ’s Kingdom among men.”  Our ministry rests on four cornerstones: Prayer, Study, Service, and Fellowship. These reaffirm the pledge we took at confirmation: to follow Christ; to worship God in His Church; and to work, pray and give for the spread of His Kingdom personally everyday.

Daughters of the King

The Order of the Daughters of the King (DOK) is a spiritual sisterhood of women dedicated to a life of Prayer, Service and Evangelism. We have made a commitment to Jesus as our Savior, and we follow Him as Lord of our lives. The Ruth and Naomi Chapter is the parish chapter of St. Andrew’s in the Pines. One of the primary disciplines of our chapter is to offer prayers for individuals in need at the request of parishioners.

Empowered by the Holy Spirit, our vision as Daughters of the King® is to know Jesus Christ, to make Him known to others, and to become reflections of God’s love throughout the world.

Prayer Shawl Ministry

The Daughters of the King initiated a prayer shawl ministry, to create shawls for parishioners and others in need of the physical and spiritual comfort that a shawl would provide. The shawls are a tangible expression of the care and compassion of the people of this parish. Not only have the recipients of the shawls been touched by this gift, but also the members of this ministry have benefited by the sharing of prayers and love as the shawls are made. To date, the ministry has made and given nearly 100 shawls.

Prayer Shawl Ministry meetings are held in the parish hall on the third Saturday of the month at 10:30 a.m.  This ministry is open to anyone in the parish, adults and youth, experienced and novice knitters/crocheters alike.
